The Best Yes

Today the door closed on
a hope that was
never fulfilled in the way
it was planned.
Today that closed door
is the key to
another hope that remains
left unknown.
Down on my knees
I prayed.
I prayed for you,
I prayed for me and
for hopes that were left
unanswered.
The no of
the unanswered prayer,
is meant
not to leave you
feeling lost and hopeless,
but to remind you
that your yes is coming
and it will be bigger,
better
and brighter than
anticipated with the hope
that came with a no.
In anticipation we wait,
we pray,
we hope and we ask God
to give us the
desires of our hearts.
In faith we believe that
when God closes a door,
there is a key
to another door
where your needs will
be met.
Love is in the belief in
faith and the
courage in
hope.
Love is in the no
from the unanswered
prayer
faithfully
sent to a God
who has our best yes in
store for us.

This poem was inspired the current bible study I am in - The Best Yes written by Lysa Teurkerst.
