???

This world is a mess,
war, crime and hate flow
where love should
reign.
Unacceptance and intolerance
persevere in a world
torn by
fear and terrorized by
hate.
Children suffering for their
unfailing belief
in God.
Misery, strife,
war, famine, pain and
heartache...
and still faith in
God remains.
The God of love,
the creator of
heaven and earth who
now holds those
who refuse to
sacrifice their faith
to live
one more day,
who pay the ultimate price
for believing in
God.
The end may be near,
the time may come
today,
tomorrow,
in an hour to two,
we will not know.
There will come a day,
where our faith will be tested,,,
will we pass? Will we see the evil
that lurks around the
corner.
Today,
Tomorrow and forever,
I will keep
my faith in the one
that created all.

The Best Yes

Today the door closed on
a hope that was
never fulfilled in the way
it was planned.
Today that closed door
is the key to
another hope that remains
left unknown.
Down on my knees
I prayed.
I prayed for you,
I prayed for me and
for hopes that were left
unanswered.
The no of
the unanswered prayer,
is meant
not to leave you
feeling lost and hopeless,
but to remind you
that your yes is coming
and it will be bigger,
better
and brighter than
anticipated with the hope
that came with a no.
In anticipation we wait,
we pray,
we hope and we ask God
to give us the
desires of our hearts.
In faith we believe that
when God closes a door,
there is a key
to another door
where your needs will
be met.
Love is in the belief in
faith and the
courage in
hope.
Love is in the no
from the unanswered
prayer
faithfully
sent to a God
who has our best yes in
store for us.

This poem was inspired the current bible study I am in - The Best Yes written by Lysa Teurkerst.

Untitled for now

Today I saw you.
Today I heard your voice
and still
I couldn't believe you were
there,
standing at my door.
I looked back to the
shattered and scattered memories
left lying on the floor
and the image
all to clear
of my tears on the
bathroom floor.

Today I grew a
little stronger,
and told you to go.
My heart broke as I know
you'll draw me in
and say goodbye
in a month or so.
Today I grew a little
more and held on
to the me I have become
since you left.

Today I know,
more than you do,
the girl you
played for a fool
is no longer there.
The girl you took for
granted has grown
and will no
longer be your toy.

The door is closed
and you can't
get back in.
To let you in
is to say goodbye to me.
As when you leave again
I will never
survive
losing you once more.

I will love you forever,
I will love you to the moon and back,
for as long as I live
my heart will
be yours,
but I will not be.
I will keep you locked away
in a distant memory
of shattered dreams and lost hopes.
Today, I said goodbye to you
and hello to me.

God Bless America!

Through the haze,
the fire
the terror and fear.
Through the sounds of sirens,
screams and tears
In a moment
our world was changed,
as time stood still
and innocent ones
lost their lives.
Firemen, police and
civilians alike,
stood in horror as the
unthinkable happened.
We cried,
we worried,
we felt the fear.
In our homes,
which no longer seemed
safe and cozy
in the wake of 9/11
we watched and
we cried.
Terrorist tried
to shake our spirit
God gave us peace in the storm.
Terrorists tried to
devalue our way of life,
our freedom and all
that our country stands for.
God blessed our land
with grace and dignity,
with courage and strength.
In that moment,
we stood united, as a country
willing to fight
for freedom,
for safety,
for all  that our country stands for.
We fight with honor,
with strength
and with a love for
America
that only comes with
the pride we feel
for the country
we all love.
Shake us, terrorize us,
try to beat out our spirit
with a God who loves us
a country we love,
freedoms we enjoy,
we will fight back,
stronger because we stand united
one nation,
under God!

United - In Honor of 9/11

United we stood,
together we grieved
all those many years ago.
So long ago,
yet not forgotten,
we watched frozen in
place, in our homes,
at  work and
even at school,
as the unthinkable happened
on our soil.
Many died,
many lost those they
loved,
in the name of religion,
in the darkness
of hatred that surrounds
the views of few,
While the dust cleared
the bodies were buried,
as a country we
showed
that no matter what
you do to us,
together we stand
together we fight
and together we show honor for
those who died and
to those who fight to protect our country.
Our country stands,
even when chaos
reigns,
and not matter what you do
America will fight
to protect their rights,
their freedoms and to help those
who are weaker than we.
America the beautiful,
the proud
and even stronger today
for all
that you threw at us
on the fateful day
on Sept 11, 2001.
We will never forget,
we will never back down
and as a country,
we will always stand united
against  those that
try to
take away our freedom
and rights!
Whether we are white or black,
Regardless of our religious backgrounds or
from another cultural background,
those that call America home
those that believe in the
Constitution and the
rights of humanity,
We are America
and we are
united, today, tomorrow
and forever.

Goodbye

Today I told you goodbye.
My heart breaks
for the love I know we would
have had,
for the life we would have
shared,
but Goodbye is now
all I have.
The tears will fall and the
hurt will
be immense.
My strength is slowly leaving
me as I remove
you from my life.
Your smile, your laugh
may haunt my
sleep, but I know
that in my heart
letting you go
is for the best.
I can't see the sun
through the rain at the moment,
but I know that one
day I will.
One day I will wake up and the thought
of you will hurt a little less.
The memories will
fade, the hopes I had
are gone, and one day that
will be okay.
Today
it hurts and I feel it
to the point of breaking.
Tomorrow the sun will shine
the birds will sing
and I will go one.
I pray you know
that you are loved
even on the days you don't realize it.
I pray you see,
what was right in front of you
all along.
Just know, that even
though you are
gone, I still love you.
Today, tomorrow
and always,
I will love you.

Where's God?

In a world where
we push aside morality
to endorse sexuality
we lose.
In a society where we
have replaced God
with idols,
we lose.
In a home where we
we replace love
with violence
and pain,
where neglect is
the name of
the game,
no one wins.
We cry out to
God, why is all
this pain and suffering,
war and famine
allowed in the world?
We don't understand
we only want to
be happy
on our terms and
doing what pleases only us,
and we wonder
as to the apparent absence of
God.
God is always with us,
He always has a plan,
the sad and
painful thing should be
that we ignore Him
in favor of what
pleases not God,
but what the evil
one takes joy
in watching us do.
Where is God?
Why has he abandoned us
in our moment of need?
Why has he gone
from our lives
and left us on our own?
We only question this
in the rough
and tough moments
where pain is evident and misery
is in creasing.
At a time when violence and
hatred seem to prevail
we suddenly want
comfort from the
God we abandoned!
