As I was thinking over our current situation, for a moment I was stuck in the situation. I let it overcome me, consume me and drown me. The storm is raging and Satan is pulling out all the stops. He wants to tip the boat, he wants me to fear and worry and all those negative feelings that will consume me. Then I was drawn to Matthew. In Matthew 8, Jesus calms the storm that everyone was worried and fearful over, and He says, "why are you afraid? You have so little faith." Then in Matthew 14, the disciples are in trouble in the midst of a storm and Jesus walks on water towars them. If we have Jesus, the storm cannot drown us. It cannot consume us, because Jesus is on top of the storm. He is literally walking on it and He is the peace in the storm. My situation does not define me if my definition comes from Jesus. He says to us, "Don't be afraid. Take courage, I am here." He will never leave us or forsake us. He is right there in the storm with us, but He already has seen the outcome. All we need to do is give Him control and have faith the size of a mustard seed.
Until the next Scribble......
