No One Knows - May 31, 1995

No One Knows

No one know the pain she sees, or the humiliation she feels.
No one knows why she cries at night or shivers at the thought of him.
When she sees him, all anyone sees is a calm that is misleading and not
at all what she feels. They don't know that she can feel his eyes on her, nor
do they see the fear she keeps hidden, keeps out of her eyes.
She's afraid of her own thoughts, her own feelings. No one knows how much
she wants him gone. How much she wants him dead.
No one knows the pain she keeps hidden, or the things he has done to her.
One day, she will no longer be afraid, one day she will no longer feel shame.
Humiliation will no longer fuel her thoughts.
No one sees the bruises she keeps hidden, or know what she hides inside.
She fears him, whereas she once loved him.
She hates him whereas she once called him hers.
No one knows the pain she sees, or the humiliation she feels.
